Okay... St. Paul was one of my best Rent experiences. My super ghetto uber-cool friend and co-Curtis-stalker Megan, and my mom and little brother all went up to St. Paul over our spring break, for the whole week. We got all crazy lost trying to find Megan's house, and then we got all crazy lost in St. Paul, but we ended up getting there just in time for the lotto, which we lost. We bought obstructed view seats for opening night, though. They weren't THAT obstructed, and it was a great show. Kevin McClollum, one of the producers of Rent, who is also head of the Ordway, gave a speech. It was so cool.

There was apparently a murder at our motel the first night we were there, and there were all kinds of cops all over. All night, we could hear them knocking on doors around us going "POLICE! OPEN UP!" It was a little unnerving. But anyway. We went to the Mall of America, and got horribly lost. But it was great fun. Megan insisted that we wander through Camp Snoopy looking for the Snoopy characters, but we couldn't find them. Megan bought a cool shirt that said "Besame" and I got one that said "Delicioso." Oh, and we randomly saw Jake Manabat and talked to him for a bit, and he mentioned that he was looking for Dana, and if we saw her, to tell her that he was looking for him. So, a few minutes later, we saw Dana, but she was on her cell phone, so we just sort of hissed at her "Daaaanaaaa... Jake is loooooking for you!" She gave us a weird look and started walking faster, LOL. So anyway.

We get back to the Ordway and do the lotto thang again, and this time we win! Woo hoo! We are joyous. Karmine is Mimi, and she kicks some Mimi ass! Yeah.

Um. We go back to the Mall again the next day, lots of fun. And such. We run in to Jake Manabat like 3 times. We go back to the Ordway and lose lotto. Skanky, skanky lotto. *hiss* But we go and sell programs and roll posters and stuff for Bill, the merchandise guy, and it's fun. We were really amused when one of us vaguely mentioned curtiscregan.com, and he was like "Hey... I've seen that site! You guys run that?" It's nice to be known :) Oh, and then we were leaving, since we were done selling stuff, and we didn't have tickets for the show, but my mom comes RUNNING in and apparently some guy had extra tickets, so he was selling 2 nice, $65 tickets for $20 each. Nice. So Megan and I got to see the show. It was SO funny, Maggie totally fucked up OTM. First, the drumstick broke, so she was like "In Cyberland we only drink *snap* SHIT!" and then, the mic wouldn't echo, so she had to echo the "Diet Coke" and everything herself. It was hilarious.

Next day, further Mall-age. Yay Mall! Um. We keep running into Jake again. We lose the lotto again, but go back to the theatre for stage door... we talk to Bart some more, and he tells us that Dana will be going on for her first Mimi tomorrow's matinee... needless to say, we are SO excited.

Saturday happens to be St. Patrick's Day. Yech. Huge parades and stuff everywhere, we're afraid we won't get to the theatre in time for lotto. But we managed to get there JUST in time, woo! Not only do we get there on time, but both my brother and Megan win lotto, so all of us can see the show! It's fabulous, etc. And then we go home... and it's not so fabulous... but whatever. In conclusion, St. Paul RULED!
